Sprinkled throughout the collection are letters from various political figures, including Timothy Pickering, John Lansing, and Vermont Governors Thomas Chittenden and Moses Robinson. Papers relating to Tichenor's service as a purchasing agent for the Northern Department and as a Commissioner to settle with New York have been separated from the general correspondence. The purchasing records include receipts and accounts from 1777 to 1780; these documents are oversize. Tichenor's papers as Commissioner are all dated 1790 and relate to the terms of settlement between Vermont and New York.
